Graceful Alignment: Yoga Asana Flowing Into Active, Aware and Awake Being

  • Zazen 2219 Filbert St San Francisco, CA, 94123 United States (map)

With Vimala Devi

$60 (members), $80 (non-members)

private sessions also available (please inquire)

In this workshop we will energize the flow of asana (Yoga postures) into breath and movement- exploring stretch and spaciousness both within the body and in movement. The coordination of breath and movement flows into integrated expression, allowing asana practice to develop into a moment-by-moment awareness of stillness in movement and movement in stillness. We honor the body as a vehicle of spiritual unfolding through graceful, heartful practice focusing on subtle alignment.

The heart chakra is the point of light from which both movement and stillness emanate. Opening to awakened presence, we will uncover embodied vitality as we move into a fluid, light and easefully aligned body. We will utilize the principles of the Alexander Technique - letting go, lengthening, widening and activation of the primary control.

Throughout the workshop, there will be gentle hands-on guidance to enhance this subtle and graceful alignment of the body, breath and being.

Vimala Devi will also be available for one-on-one privates to deepen all aspects of your practice.
