In her classes, Jill guides students to explore and achieve the proper alignment and actions in each pose. In this way, she hopes to challenge and engage students spanning a range of ability and experience levels. Class sequences are generally designed to promote strength, stability and flexibility, with an intention to invigorate the body and balance the mind. Jill's goal is to offer to others what she has gained from the practice of yoga: a tool for self inquiry and self healing. Her work as a professional massage therapist informs her teaching.
Jill is a RYT - 200, and has completed over 700 hours of teacher training. Recently, she graduated from the Advanced Studies program at the Iyengar Institute of San Francisco. For many years, Jill has maintained a personal practice and has studied in several yogic traditions, including Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa flow, Sivananda, Bikram, and Anusara. She gratefully continues her studies with local Iyengar teachers, Kathy Alef, and Manouso Manos.
