I have always known instinctively that movement is medicine. I grew up dancing and received a BA in Dance from Smith College, where I also developed a passion for yoga and other movement arts. In 2013 I began training with master teacher Joy Ravelli at Purusha Yoga and completed my RYT 500 certification the following year. While yoga is at the heart of my approach to holistic healing, I am also certified in Thai massage and regularly incorporate bodywork into my practice. I am now grateful to be a lead teacher in the Purusha YTT Program and to be part of our non-profit Purusha Seva Project, offering therapeutic yoga classes for Veterans and other local underserved communities here in the Bay Area. I also teach weekly classes at The Center SF and rotate as a guest yoga teacher at Ecstatic Dance SF. I have found that serving others has revealed my highest self as a channel for divine healing. I believe that yoga empowers holistic wellness, the healing of the whole self. When we are embodied and aware, we create a space to heal the body and mind from trauma. As we release the outdated limiting beliefs that keep us stuck, we transform, ultimately leading our souls toward expansion, joy, and freedom. I want to support you on your journey to total well-being. My classes and private sessions integrate classical Hatha Yoga with the intuitive, creative aspects of authentic somatic movement. Class sequences are often infused with energizing chakra practices, guided visualization, conscious breathwork and elements of improvisation. My goal is to create a safe and inspirational space in which students can let go and discover their deepest truths as we move, play, and heal together.
