Embodied Mindfulness: An Integration of Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga Practices With Jill Satterfield
May 26 – 29, 2017 / Zazen Private Retreat Facility
Mindfulness, meditation and yoga are symbiotic and mutually supportive practices that facilitate the capacity to more fully participate in, and be more at ease with this experiment of life.
Being embodied organically leads to becoming more rooted to the earth, to the ground of our being. The more connected - energetically, mentally and emotionally - we are to our own body and the larger body of our planet we become, the more present and at home we can be anywhere and at anytime.
This weekend retreat will offer a variety of embodiment practices: mindful yoga, mindfulness and meditation while seated, standing, walking and lying down.
We will practice in the quiet sanctuary of mountains in Ukiah, with others of like heart where we will drop into our bodies with a conscious mind and the support of these ancient wisdom practices.
Jill Satterfield, named “one of the 4 leading yoga and Buddhist teachers in the country” by the Shambhala Sun Magazine, is the founder of Vajra Yoga + Meditation, a synthesis of meditation and yoga, contemplative and compassion in action practices. Yoga + Meditation + Reflection
with Karen Macklin
November 11-13, 2016
As we move into the darkest season of the year, it’s the perfect time to turn inward. This process allows us to shift our attention from the external light of the sun to the internal light that resides inside each one of us. Join me for this special pre-holiday, full moon weekend retreat. We’ll immerse ourselves in contemplative practices and ritual to make peace with the darkness, and contact the inner light of spacious awareness.
This retreat includes:
* yoga and meditation practices that explore the relationship between darkness and light (all levels welcome)
* dharma talks and writing exercises aimed at self-inquiry and transformation
* quiet time for contemplation in a beautiful and tranquil setting
* accommodation in a brand new retreat center
* delicious organic vegetarian food
Zazen is a brand new retreat center that is located just two hours north of San Francisco, in the Mendocino highlands between Ukiah and the Mendocino coast.
