Giving Thanks - An Acro Retreat

Join us for three and a half days of acro, handstands and Thai massage at Zazen Retreat Center, in Ukiah. Nestled in the rolling hills of northern California, Zazen is less than six miles from Orr Hot Springs and Montgomery Redwood Forest. Prepare to indulge all of your senses over the course of our time together.

During this retreat we will work hard, and leave time for replenishment in the hot springs and nearby redwood forest. Each day will begin with time in silence for meditation and personal practice, and close with therapeutics in the form of Thai massage and partner stretching. Over the course of the weekend we will focus on building your acro skill bank. We'll review a few washing machines then teach you new ones, condition the fundamentals, pop the pops, and spend time exploring creative flow. And because we are who we are - we will intersperse injury prevention tips and incorporate education on anatomy and biomechanics so that you leave this retreat not only with new tricks up your sleeve, but also with a working knowledge of how it is your body does the amazing things you have trained it to do.

Pre-requisites: The material being shared is at a solid intermediate level, with progressions offered for more advanced students. We assume that you have familiarity with standard acro poses and some experience in a handstand; see list below. If you have questions about this list please contact us directly at PrecisionAcrobaticsSF@gmail.com.

>> Star, reverse star, front plank <-> shoulder stand <-> back plank, foot to hand
>> Hold a handstand at wall for 20 seconds; 45s plank

Of note: This retreat is limited to 16 participants, and will be an alcohol and substance free event.

Our intention in offering this retreat is to join together in community to celebrate our love for acro, and to quietly reflect on all of the reasons we have to give thanks. We want to train hard, engage in knowledge sharing and curious exploration, eat good food, restore our bodies, and laugh a lot. We are excited to be finishing our first year of teaching as "Precision Acrobatics" and want to celebrate with you!

About the instructors:
