MAHAMUDRA is the practice of understanding the true nature and function of the mind. Mahamudra meditation allows one to deepen their awareness and find joy and wellbeing. By exploring the true nature of the mind on both the conventional level and ultimate level, we are able to overcome all mental and emotional blockages. Mahamudra teaches you how to open your mind and your heart. It is related to the Four Mindfulnesses.

GESHE GYALTEN was born in Lhasa, Tibet in 1966. Since childhood, Geshe-la had a strong wish to become a monk and in 1985 left Tibet for India to meet HH the Dalai Lama, receive his blessing, and act according to His Holiness's advice. The Dalai Lama instructed him to study in Dharamsala, India, where he studied modern subjects, became the top student in his class, and also excelled at sports. He speaks 5 languages, Tibetan, English, Hindi, Chinese and Italian. Geshela has been ordained as a Buddhist Monk for over 25 years. He received his Geshe Degree (equivalent to a PhD in Buddhist philosophy) and is also learned in meditation, Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Yoga. For many years he was the Heart Disciple of the late H.E. Choden Rinpoche, the latter being the Guru to many of today's great Tibetan Masters. Geshela has travelled extensively around the world including Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand where he has set up Dharma Centers. He has also taught in many other locations in the United States, Canada, Asia, and Europe.
