Finding Grace in the Midst of Hardship: A Sufi Perspective
We are living in challenging times. You may be facing anxiety over the loss of health insurance. You may be in fear for your safety and security. Or you may be distraught over loss of relationships because of political differences. You long for peace, but the stress never ends.
We look for peace by trying to change the circumstances on the outside - “ If I only had...”, “if only they would... ”. But focusing on the outside, expecting change, only brings heartache and more fear.
The only way to lasting peace is to journey inside - to discover the light that dwells within and develop a peace in your heart that does not waver despite life's challenges. This may sound impossible, but the Grace of God is showering down on you in every moment. It rains down from the heavens and streams out from your heart. It is neither deserved or earned. It is just there.
When we open to this grace, peace is possible.
This workshop will use teachings and practices from the Sufi tradition to teach you how to receive this grace and live with a peaceful heart. It will address the questions and issues of both beginners and those experienced on a spiritual path.
The workshop is open to all.
"Finding Grace in Hardship" will be taught by Rahima Schmall, Ph.D. Rahima is a founding faculty member of the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism.
